Ways to Save Money on Your Honeymoon

Every couple wants to be able to take a honeymoon. But for some the cost of a honeymoon is an obstacle. However there are ways to save money on your honeymoon. With careful planning and a budget anyone can enjoy a romantic honeymoon.

One of the first things to do is join a honeymoon registry. Most couples sign up for a gift registry so friends and family can purchase items they need. A honeymoon registry allows friends and family to help you pay for your honeymoon. Basically you create a wish list of vacation items such as hotel nights, romatic dinners, tour excursions, spa services and event tickets.

How does it work. On most honeymoon registry websites you will set up a free online account and then you will be able to add items to your honeymoon registry. Guests can view the items you requested and purchase them.

You should always set a budget before you start planning your honeymoon. This budget gives you an amount that you can spend so you can decide how much you want to spend on each part of your honeymoon. Would you rather stay four nights at a luxury resort, or have a longer honeymoon and stay seven nights at a less expense property.

Consider a cruise for your honeymoon. A cruise gives you a lot of value for your money. Most cruises can be considered all-inclusive as they include your meals, some beverages, entertainment and accommodations.

Another way to save money is to book your honeymoon for the off season. You can save a lot of money by avoiding high season travel times. Hotel rates drop in the Caribbean for travel in the summer and fall and are higher in the winter months.

And last but not least don't forget to register for the free honeymoon contests . Wouldn't it be great to win a honeymoon? A few contests to check out are: Win a Holland America Cruise to Alaska (ENTER BY: April 30, 2009) and Win a Trip to Thailand for Two from Rough Guides, (ENTER BY: February 28, 2009).
