Most wedding chapels in Las Vegas offer either a civil ceremony or a religious ceremony and provide you with a minister or rabbi. Chapels offer a variety of packages, from very simple to very elaborate. If you have your wedding in one of the hundreds of wedding chapels in Las Vegas, don't expect a long ceremony because there are usually several weddings scheduled in each chapel every day. At most chapels you are allowed only a half-hour of chapel time.
Types of Las Vegas WeddingsElegant and traditional weddings - Bellagio or the Paris wedding chapels. Wedding dollars go further in Las Vegas. You can have everything - wedding, reception, bachelor and bachelorette parties, honeymoon - for less than a wedding at home. Many Las Vegas wedding venues offer a broad range of packages and price points. Here's a list of some of the wedding packages available: Riviera Hotel - At the Royale wedding chapel the simplest package starts at $279. The deal includes use of the resort chapel for 30 minutes, music, photos, a rose for the bride, a boutonniere for the groom and champagne or sparkling cider. Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas - A wedding at the Four Seasons can be of any size and couples have a choice of a traditional chapel or a more intimate suite that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip. Each couple is assigned a wedding coordinator and the hotel prides itself on having no more than three weddings a day. (www.fourseasons.com) Mandalay Bay - Brides and grooms can choose from four wedding packages, from the basic, $675 Crystal Waters package to the deluxe Diamond Lights, priced at $2695 Fridays and Saturdays and $2595 the remainder of the week. To obtain a marriage licence in Las Vegas:
- You need not be a resident of Las Vegas to apply for a marriage licence.
- There is no blood test and no waiting period.
- The licence fee must be paid in cash.
- To apply, both parties must appear at the Marriage License Bureau, 200 South Third Street, First Floor. The office is open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight, and 24 hours a day on Saturday, Sunday and Nevada legal holidays.
- Proof of age is required. Adults 18 years and older do not need consent. Persons 16 and 17 years old must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian in person at the time of application, or a notarised affidavit signed by either parent. The affidavit must include the birth date of the minor and state the relationship of the party giving consent.
- At least one other witness is required.
- If either applicant is divorced, the divorce must be final. Proof of the date, the final decree and the city and state where the divorce was granted are required.
