Best Time To Visit

The best time of the year to visit Florida is March, April, October and November. These months offer the best temperature/precipitation combination of the year. The climate can vary by region of the state, also. The central area of Florida (Orlando) tends to get much less rain in the month of September than the southern part of the state (Miami). If you're planning on visiting Florida in the winter and are looking for warm weather, you'll want to go to the southern part of the state, as the central and northern parts are cooler.

Miami, and Miami Beach, provide an excellent base for travel to several other major holiday attractions. The Everglades are just a short distance inland and to the south, the beginning of the Florida Keys is just off shore and Miami has the biggest cruise ship center in the USA with hundreds of sailings to all parts of the world, but especially the Caribbean, Bahamas and Latin America.

Florida Honeymoon

Honeymoon Spots and Romantic Getaways in Florida.

Hyatt Key WestFlorida offers an incredible mix of superb locations, each one providing unique opportunities and honeymoon vacations that cater to all tastes and interests. A Florida honeymoon at a beach is all about basking in the sunny warmth, swimming in the warm clear waters and enjoying the relaxed lifestyle. Florida is America's answer to the Caribbean. Every conceivable 'fun in the sun' attraction is here - palm-shaded swimming pools, championship golf courses, tennis, shopping malls, sporting events and theme parks.

From St. Petersburg to Naples, there's nothing like taking an evening stroll on the soft sugary sand, listening to the soothing whispers of the Gulf breezes and viewing the intoxicating sunset. On Florida's eastern side, the fun extends from the Space Coast to the "taste coast" of South Beach. Just East of Orlando, outstanding beaches and great beach sites like the Cocoa Beach Pier and the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop are balanced with enriching tourist attractions like nature preserves, the Kennedy Space Center, the Port Canaveral Astronaut Museum, and, of course, Walt Disney World. On Florida's West Coast you can collect gifts from the ocean on Sanibel Island, known worldwide for more than 200 varieties of shells that decorate the beaches. For upscale beach vacations and posh amenities, Naples offers unparalleled elegance and uncompromising natural treasures.

Getting Married in Florida

For those who dream of a romantic outdoor wedding, Florida beckons. With its endless sunshine, warm weather year 'round and varied venues with names like Lovers Key and Honeymoon Island, Florida is the perfect place to hold nuptials. Beach lovers can repeat their vows barefoot in sugar-white sand, with palm trees swaying and waves crashing nearby. For Gulf coast weddings, use the setting sun as a brilliant backdrop. On the east coast, plan a sunrise ceremony.

License to Wed - To get married in Florida, visiting couples need only go together to the nearest clerk of the circuit court office to obtain a marriage license, which can be issued that day. To obtain a marriage license, U.S citizens must provide their social security numbers and photo identification, such as driver’s licenses. People who have been married previously must provide the date of divorce, annulment or spouse’s death. Marriage licenses are good for 60 days. The standard fee is $93.50.

Romance at Disney World - Disney's Deluxe Resorts offer the highest level of quality, convenience and personalized service set in captivating surroundings with full amenities. These Resort Hotels offer spacious rooms and suites, world-renowned fine dining, enchanting pools with playful water slides and on-site recreation. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Yacht Club, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney Contempory Resort offer Club Level Concierge. Downtown Disney complexes provide the ultimate in shopping, nightlife and dining, using the same special effects and gimmicks as the parks.

Honeymoon on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel - Fort Myers, a thriving city rich in history and nature, serves as gateway to a stretch of islands known for their white-sand beaches, bird life and recreational opportunities. The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel abound with opportunities for quiet moments and intimate adventures. Morning strolls in blooming gardens to evening theater and dinner for two. Besides canoeing and kayaking, the islands lure with nature boat tours, fishing and shelling charters, a sailing school, boat rentals, parasailing, sightseeing voyages, and cruises to the upper islands, reclusive and accessible only by boat. Shelling, secluded beaching, nature hikes, camping, lunching and cottage or home rentals beckon adventurers to these castaway islands. With its gentle Gulf of Mexico waves, shell-strewn beaches, neighborly attitude and laid-back tempo, Fort Myers and its islands coerce a mood of creativity and inspiration.

Old World Romance in St. Augustine - Step back in time to St. Augustine, America’s oldest continually settled municipality, and feel as if you are caught in a delicious time warp. Romance is timeless in this setting of Old World charm and New World pampering on the shores of a moonlit sea. Romantic inns, cozy restaurants and memorable vistas offer the perfect setting for love. Attractions around the Old City balance the historic with the modern in the form of contemporary theater, opera, art galleries, Potter’s Wax Museum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum and a chocolate factory. Restaurants range from a Spanish bakery that uses heirloom recipes to a modern microbrewery. Across the Intracoastal Waterway St. Augustine Beach is home to Anastasia State Park, where beachers, fishermen and surfers gather. Fort ruins and putt-putt golf centers round out the attractions along this stretch of wide, hard-packed sand. Beaches of St. Augustine are both secluded and unspoiled with more than 40 miles of scenic, well-preserved coastline.

The Florida Keys & Key West - Dangling somewhere between Florida and the Caribbean – both geographically and philosophically – the Florida Keys are all together someplace else. Romantic sunsets, warm breezes, lush tropical settings, fine restaurants. Those are a few of the traits that made the Florida Keys famous as a honeymoon destination. Forget all the rules when you enter this world of street performers, artists, sidewalk cafes, funky saloons, historic B&Bs and a sunset celebration second to none. The Key West Aquarium was Florida’s first of its kind. It sits along the waterfront among a sponge market, raw bars and resorts. It’s the place to be come sunset, when throngs witness every form of entertainment from pet iguanas to fire-eaters. This is a small taste of the Key West party scene.

Romantic, Tropical, Magical Orlando - Orlando caters to the discerning traveler with its world-class resorts, luxurious spas, decadent dining and high-class shopping. One of the city’s most loved gathering places is downtown Lake Eola Park — where couples can have picnics along the lake’s grassy banks or saunter arm-in-arm along the walkway. Those true romantics can sit side-by-side as they gently paddle their swan boat around the lake.

Naples / Marco Island - Florida's Paradise Coast offers pearly beaches, a wealth of top-notch golf courses, elegant resorts, cutting-edge restaurants and gorgeous shopping centers is what you'll find in Naples. In Naples’ major shopping areas, the art spills out into the streets, particularly downtown in Old Naples. Fifth Avenue South is the main drag and it has made a name for itself with one-of-a-kind shops, hip sidewalk cafés and clubs and artsy festivals. Just steps away from the shopping beckon beaches made for basking leisurely or trolling for seashells. Marco Island, is most well-known for its wide-coved beach and the fine resorts that line it.

Amelia Island Romantic Getaways - The beauty and peace of Amelia Island offers the perfect atmosphere for bringing couples closer together. The lush locale, the moonlit ocean, the tranquility - all conspire to make you feel like honeymooners. Bike along Fort Clinch's six-mile off-road trails or simply spend your day relaxing on one of the pristine beaches then watch the gorgeous sunset at the downtown Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina.

West Palm Beach - 47 miles of white sandy beaches with exotic shells, sand dunes, loggerhead turtles and lush tropical vegetation are natural wonders to explore. Excellent year-round sunny skies and tropical temperatures make Palm Beach County a superb place to experience the outdoors and enjoy recreational activities. Theaters, museums and galleries create an aura of high-brow culture at West Palm Beach. Elegance and luxurious comfort are the hallmarks of this slice of paradise.

Destin/Fort Walton Beach Area
Sand just doesn’t get much whiter than this, and that’s only the beginning of what’s so special about this well-loved band of Gulf of Mexico beachfront dubbed the Emerald Coast. The water is bright green, the dunes are lofty, the fish are plentiful, and the excitement doesn’t quit. In addition to fishing, tour and glass-bottom boats take you sightseeing, snorkeling, diving, sailing, spotting dolphins and more. You will find them lined up along the harbor in front of seafood restaurants heavy on character, light on the budget.

The Destin Bridge crosses East Pass to Fort Walton Beach, an older beach community with lots of affordable resorts. Beach shops, lively bars, go-kart tracks, batting cages, amusement parks, watersports concessions and beach accesses line the beach’s main drag on Fort Walton Beach’s Okaloosa Island. The Boardwalk is an energetic center of activity with restaurants, clubs, the town’s fishing pier, beach volleyball and the classic Florida’s Gulfarium.
