Not every resort nor every island fits every couple's taste. There are low to mid range all inclusive resorts and deluxe all inclusive resorts. They range from the small all-inclusive resorts with 10-50 quaint cottages with just 1 or 2 restaurants and a bar, to the mid-size resorts that are more lively, with anywhere from 100 to 300 rooms, suites and/or cottages, 3 to 5 restaurants, and a couple of bars. The very large resorts may have 500+ rooms, up to 10 restaurants, 7 to 9 bars, and a lot of activity 24/7. It's very important that you select carefully so that you know what you're getting and will be happy with your choice.

What's usually not included in an all-inclusive package?
Phone calls, Spa treatments ( a few resorts offer a complimentary treatment), off-property tours and gift shop purchases.

Questions to ask yourself to help in selecting an all inclusive resort:

  • Do we want an all-inclusive that's couples only?
  • Is our main goal relaxation?
  • Do we want a suite or is a regular hotel room satisfactory?
  • What is our budget?
  • Do we want a casual or formal resort?
  • Are there Spa facilities on property?
  • Are we interested in water sports or golf?
